The signing of the MoU and PKs of the Rembang Regency Government with Undip

UNDIP and Rembang Regency Government

On December 2, a Memorandum of Understanding Signing (MoU) was held in The Regional Secretariat Building Hall of the Rembang Regency Government by the Rembang Regency Government affiliated with Diponegoro University (UNDIP). The government was represented by Pjs. Regent of Rembang and UNDIP was represented by the Vice-Chancellor of Academic and Student Affairs. The current signed MoU is a form of extension of the previous MoU that had been ended by the year 2020.

In his opening speech, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Budi Setiyono stated that UNDIP, as one of the best universities in Indonesia, is ready to give a contribution to national development, especially in Central Java areas. The existence of Study Programs outside the Main Campus (PSDKU), UNDIP Campus located in Rembang is proof of its commitment.

UNDIP tirelessly performs the College Tri Dharma, and the Education aspects are executed in a form of giving a quota up to 40% for students with excellent achievement in PSDKU regencies so that they can have a proper education.

The Research and Devotion aspects will be executed in a form of UNDIP involving students and lecturers to give solutions to the existing issue in the community through research schemes and community service programs funded by the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM Undip). Besides all of that, Prof. Budi revealed that some of the Study Programs will be established next year according to the strategic plan of UNDIP based on the result of the study done by UNDIP and the Rembang Regency Government.

Meanwhile, Drs Imam Maskur, M.Si (Acting Regent of Rembang) really appreciated what Undip had done for the progress of Rembang Regency in his remarks. According to him, Undip’s PSDKU in Rembang Regency has slowly had a positive impact on improving the economy and creating a local education climate. The presence of hundreds of students at the PSDKU Campus who come from various regions in Indonesia has brought new nuances to the dynamics of the city and helped to stimulate the economic activities of the Rembang Regency. The Regent hopes that soon the establishment of new study programs can be realized according to the expectations of the Rembang Regency Government so that the graduates later, especially those from the region, can take part and give color to the progress of Rembang Regency.

As a follow-up to the MoU, a Cooperation Agreement (PKs) was signed between 11 OPDs and Regional Bodies and the PSDKU Management Institution at the same time. OPD and Regional Agencies represented by the speech of the Head of the Regional Development Planning Agency (BAPPEDA) Ir. Dwi Wahyuni ​​Hariyati, MM welcomes the stage of making and implementing PKs as a form of follow-up to the MoU between the district government. Rembang with Undip. At the PKs signing, the PSDKU Management Institute was carried out by Dr. Redyanto Noor, M. Hum. As Chair of the Institute, Redyanto stated that he would always work together, coordinate with related agencies in an effort to play the role of Undip’s PSDKU to advance regional potential in Central Java, especially Rembang Regency.
