The Directorate of Communication and Alumni Relations in collaboration with the Undip KKIB Business Incubator on Saturday, November 28, 2020, has carried out the activities of the Teaching Alumni Volume II in 2020.

This activity has become an annual routine agenda. This activity presented two speakers who were very expert in their fields. The first speaker presented Syanaz Winanto as the Founder of the Rorokenes Business. The second speaker presented Roy Wibisono as CEO of PT. Naruna Ceramic. The theme raised in the Volume II Teaching Alumni Webinar is “The Spirit of Doing Business in the New Normal Era”.

In the current New Normal era, many business developments have sprung up new ideas and many businesses cannot survive. Therefore, students together with the alumni and academic community of Diponegoro University need to prepare and anticipate it well. The Teaching Alumni Volume II webinar event was opened and was fully attended by Drs. Mujid Farihul Amin, M.Pd who represented university leaders. The remarks and reports on the webinar event were delivered by Dr. Ita Widowati as chairman of the committee and the Directorate of Alumni and Alumni Relations of Diponegoro University. In his remarks, she expressed her very good appreciation for the Volume II Teaching Alumni webinar, as well as leaving a message to students so that they always want to try new things, and don’t be afraid to fail.

The first speaker delivered a presentation about the business that is currently being run. The Rorokenes business is a brand that produces handicraft leather woven bags. All Rorokenes bags are handmade products made to order. Rorokenes guarantees that all the works produced by Rorokenes are made of 100% genuine leather using 90% domestic materials.

The elegant and multifunctional design of the Rorokenes bag wrapped in traditional Indonesian weaving creations is the hallmark of Rorokenes’ work. Rorokenes was first launched in April 2014 by Syanaz Nadya Winanto Putri. Rorokenes believes that a good business besides having good products must also provide benefits to others can help prosper the community, and must not destroy nature.

On this occasion, Syanaz invited participants who took part in the webinar to start thinking about or designing their own business ideas and set targets to run and realize the business that had been designed, so that when they graduated as students, students who took part in this webinar did not experience difficulties in finding work.

As the second speaker, Roy Wibisono shared his experience in managing PT. Naruna Ceramic. The ceramic business that he manages is increasingly developing, even during the Covid 19 pandemic, more and more products are being sold. The origin of the Naruna Ceramics business idea came from Roy Wibisono’s thesis when he was a student. When he was a student, Roy wanted to become an entrepreneur and did not want to be a worker who was employed by other people, such as being an employee in a public or private agency/institution. He hopes that most of the participants come from Undip students to have traces of thoughts/ideas like what he lived when he was a student.

This activity was guided directly by Shoimatul Fitria, SE, M.M as Deputy Head of Undip KKIB Business Incubator. According to her, the business that has been run by the two speakers and who is also an alumnus of Diponegoro University is very good, the business can compete very well and it still survives to this day. The enthusiasm of the participants who asked questions and joined the event was also appreciated because many of the participants asked questions, even though it was done online.

Until the end of the event, there were still many participants who asked questions about the two sources. Indirectly, the teaching alumni activities also support the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The SDGs supported include the 4th SDGs for quality education, the 8th SDGs Decent work, and economic growth, and the 9th SDGs for Industry, innovation, and infrastructure. This has become a commitment from the university leadership to always support the SDGs in every activity they do.

On this occasion, Mudjid as the Director of Communication and Relations of Alumni also expressed his gratitude to various parties who have supported the event starting from Erasmus + with its Smart Project. The two parties assist in developing an entrepreneurial spirit at Undip. Likewise with Rorokenes and PT. Naruna Ceramic, who gave full support for the 2020 Teaching Alumni Webinar Event
