CBIOM3S Promotes Undip at Indonesia Innovation Expo (I2E) 2020

Center For Biomechanics, Biomaterials, Biomechatronics, and Biosignal Processing (CBIOM3S) in Diponegoro University won second place in the Indonesian Innovation Award in the category of Innovative Higher Education, which was held by the Soemitro Djojohadikoesoemo Auditorium at BJ Habibie Building on the 3rd floor of Central Jakarta on Tuesday (10/11).

As a research university that is aiming for the World Class University predicate, Undip has a health technology research center, which is called Center For Biomechanics, Biomaterials, Biomechatronics, and Biosignal Processing (CBIOM3S). For the last 4 years, CBIOM3S has developed a health technology product, such as bionic hand, mechanical hand, club foot therapy device for babies, brace for patients with ostheo-arthritis of the knee joint, artificial leg, Parkinson’s disease diagnostic tool, exoglove for stroke patients, etc.

Different from the previous years, this time the organizer presenting a Virtual Exhibition from 10 to 13 November 2020, continued with a static exhibition that starts November 14 until December 20, 2020. This year’s I2E carries “Indonesia Innovation as a Solution” as a closing remark of the commemoration of the Quarter of Century National Technology Awakening. The Minister of Research and Technology explained that the exhibition itself is a marker of the tighter litbangjirap community’s integrity in Indonesia.

“It is reflected in the unity of so many activities from the researches and Indonesia Innovation in the expo, which is Artificial Intelligence Summit 2020; Nuclear EXPO 2020; Indonesian Science EXPO 2020,” stated The Minister of Research and Technology.

Apart from presenting various results of litbangjirap, the expo was also enlivened with seminars, discussions, virtual workshops on various research and application topics, meetings and talks with Indonesian researchers and innovators, visits through virtual tours to the latest laboratory and research facilities, virtual clinics/consultations, creativity competitions. and community innovations, and other interesting events. Indonesia Innovation Expo (I2E) 2020, previously known as RITECH EXPO, is an annual exhibition that displays various research results and innovations created by the nation’s children.

President Joko Widodo welcomed and expressed his appreciation for I2E 2020. I2E is an example of an ecosystem that is conducive to research with evidence of the birth of innovative works of the nation’s children, especially when facing the Covid-19 pandemic, innovations have emerged in various fields, such as the development of the Red and White Vaccine as well as a virus detection via Gnose exhalation. This makes innovation a very important part of the nation’s independence and excellence.
